Samson is carrying off the gates of Gaza
from on early 15th centaury Pumpers Bible.
Such Bibles were largely pictorial and
aimed at the illiterate poor.
Samson's story comes to an end with his
burial in the family grave at Zorah.
King Saul had a son named Jonathan.
Jonathan was a prince. He and David his
coat Jonathan knew his father wanted to hurt David.
So Jonathan helped David run away and
hide from Saul.
That was a brave thing for prince
Jonathan to do.
If David became the next king.
Jonathan would never be king of Israel.
