Matthew 

A tax collector who became one of Jesus twelve disciples He wrote the Bible book that has his name.   

 

It is the first of the Gospels and the first book in the New testament.  

 

How could Matthew write a book about Jesus because he was a tax collector. 

 

In Bible times many people didn’t know how to read or write.  

 

But those who collection taxes  had To be good at keeping records.  

 

That made Matthew a good choice for a  writer.
